The release of the first HKDSE results on 20/7/2012 is a milestone in a sense.
The Careers Section already had their hands full and phone ringing non-stop for 2 days or more after the HKALE results were released. A prompt response and helping hand relieved the students considerably. This was the case for 3 F7 classes.
One could not start imagining what the scenario might be when it came to 5 F6 classes facing anxiety and uncertainty when they received their result notices.
In anticipation of the need to ensure every student could receive counseling and advice, our school had decided to mobilize our F6 Form Teachers and subject teachers to team up with our Careers and Guidance Sections to form a strong supporting network. A workshop was conducted by Hok Yau Club on 3/4/2012 to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills.
Besides, another workshop was organized on 6/7/2012 by Hok Yau Club again for F6 classes to help them understand the procedures they should follow on receiving the result notices and factors they should consider when ordering the preferences of their program choices . Students were grouped and worked under the guidance of the teacher helpers. This proved to be a very enlightening experience for them. No doubt they should have better preparedness for the coming of the D-Day .
